Jesus tells us to “love each other.” What does that even look like? Well, it looks a lot like the way Jesus loved people when He was here on earth. Through everything He did and the stories He told, Jesus taught us to love each other. That’s why we’re telling these specific Bible lessons this month. We want to teach our children to love like Jesus. We’ll start with a story Jesus told, a parable. The first two weeks (March Weeks 1 and 2) has preschoolers hearing about the widow’s mite and how they can share (love) even when they have very little.
The next two lessons are from the life of Jesus that prepare us for the Easter message coming in April. They will hear how Jesus, the Son of God, washed the feet of His disciples (March Weeks 3 and 4). Even though Jesus was God’s Son, He still served those around Him. We want our preschoolers to know that we too can serve those around us, no matter who they are. We’ll end with the joyous celebration of Palm Sunday (March Week 5). As Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, He was preparing for the ultimate act of love. He truly exemplified the verse, “love each other.” We pray that through this month’s lessons, our preschoolers learn to love like Jesus.
The Monthly Memory verse is “Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12, NIV
The Bottom Line is I can love like Jesus.
Review this week’s lesson by asking your little ones the following questions:
1. How many hurt men were there? (ten)
2. What was wrong with them? (They had sores all over their skin)
3. Who did the men ask to help them? (Jesus)
4. Did Jesus help them? (Yes, Jesus made all the sores disappear)
5. What did they do when they were better? (9 ran home and 1 stayed to say THANK YOU)
6. Who do you need? (I need Jesus)
This week’s lesson was from Luke 17. In this week’s Bible lesson Jesus heals ten lepers but only one comes back to say “thank You.” Watch the video here:

The City and Alley Kids learned last week about caring for those that are overlooked and when we do – we are really showing kindness and love to Jesus! We are excited to show kindness and love to kids in foster care through a local foster care agency! Over the next few weekends, your family can show kindness to kids in foster care in a few ways:
1 – Journey Bags – Many kids placed in foster care have no way to transport their belongings or have many things that are their own. Pack a backpack with all of the following items:
Please mark the bag with Age and Gender (no food)
(Please include all items: backpack, shampoo, body wash, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hair ties/barrettes, lip gloss/chapstick, pajamas, underwear, socks, blanket, game, toy, book, pens, notebook)
2 – Gift Cards – The agency will use the gift cards we provide to support the foster families in our community. Gift cards can be for any amount for restaurants, movies, shopping, etc.
3 – Pray for the kids in foster care as they transition into new places and for families to be reunited.
